Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva Inaugurates Court, Mediation And Housing Facilities In Madhya Pradesh

On 17 April 2026, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice, High Court of Madhya Pradesh and Patron-in-Chief, M.P. State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, virtually inaugurated the District Court Building at Shahdol, the Civil Court Building at Buxwaha (Chhatarpur), mediation centres at Nainpur (Mandla), Sanawad and Badwaha (Mandleshwar), Ajaygarh and Pawai (Panna), Kolaras and Khaniyadhana (Shivpuri), Sironj and Lateri (Vidisha), and residential premises for judicial officers at Balaghat, Pawai (Panna), and Sarangpur (Rajgarh).The programme was attended by Justice Vivek Rusia, Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh and Executive Chairman, Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur; Portfolio Judges of the concerned districts; and Companion Judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur, Indore, and Gwalior.Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva stated that judicial infrastructure is an important component of the justice delivery system. He noted that the newly inaugurated court buildings, mediation centres, and residential facilities are intended to improve access to justice, particularly in district and tehsil areas. The court complexes at Shahdol and Buxwaha include child-friendly facilities. The mediation centres are expected to facilitate dispute resolution and reduce the burden on regular courts.He further stated that well-equipped court buildings contribute to the functioning of the judicial process and access to justice. Referring to mediation centres, he noted that they provide a setting for amicable and cost-effective resolution of disputes. He acknowledged the role of High Court judges, Principal District & Sessions Judges, and officials involved in the construction.Justice Vivek Rusia stated that access to justice remains significant, particularly in remote and underserved areas. He noted that the inauguration of court buildings, mediation centres, and residential facilities is aimed at strengthening district-level justice delivery. He stated that these projects are expected to improve infrastructure and support judicial functioning. He also noted that residential facilities assist judicial officers, and mediation centres may help in reducing pendency.The inauguration covered one District & Sessions Court Building, one Civil Court Building, nine tehsil-level mediation centres, and three residential premises. The projects involve an approximate expenditure of ₹40 crores.With the addition of nine mediation centres, the total number of mediation centres in the State is 111.Officials present included Dharminder Singh, Registrar General, High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Umesh Pandav, Director, Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy; Principal District & Sessions Judges and judicial officers of the concerned districts; and Suman Shrivastava, Member Secretary, MPSLSA, along with officers of MPSLSA.The programme was conducted by Sangeeta Yadav, Registrar (Examination), High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
